For the better health of the adolescent girls and boys of the State, the state government is committed to provide proper health check-up and medical services as needed. All the adolescent girls studying in government and government aided schools up to class 6-12 are not able to get health check-ups on time, due to which they have vision defects, ear related diseases, TB, anaemia, skin diseases, Goiter diseases, fluorosis etc. Diseases are not detected in time, due to which many challenges arise in their life over time.

The total number of adolescent girls in class 6-12 of government and government aided schools of the State is 21,94,106, in which the number of adolescents is 10,15,407 and the number of adolescent girls is 11,78,699.

It is noteworthy that at present, under the National Adolescent Health Program (RKSK), distribution of blue tablets of iron and folic acid, half-yearly distribution of albendazole tablet, to school going boys and girls of class 6-12, in the schemes run by the health department for adolescent girls. Distribution of sanitary napkins, health check-up and treatment of adolescent girls under National Child Health Program and referral to higher health centers, mental health awareness under mental health program, eye examination of adolescent girls under National Blindness Control Program and distribution of spectacles as per requirement, etc is included.

The health check-up of adolescent girls can be completed in a certain time frame by running a campaign in coordination with the Education department and timely identification of diseases in children can be done so that the disease does not increase and prevention and proper treatment can be done.

Indias First Suicide Prevention Policy

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recently unveiled the National Suicide Prevention Strategy Indias first suicide prevention policy.

National Suicide Prevention Strategy (NSPS) aims to reduce suicide mortality by 10 per cent by 2030 through timely actions and multi-sectoral collaborations.

The NSPS is divided into 3 parts immediate, intermediate and long-term strategy.

Its priority areas are reducing easy access to suicide modes, strengthening healthcare systems to prevent suicide, sensitization through media and strengthening suicide surveillance.

Under this policy, the government will phase out hazardous pesticides.

25th National Conference on e-Governance

The 25thNational Conference on e-Governance will be organized on November 26 and 27 this year

25thNational Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) will be held in Katra a city in the .

It will be jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

The theme for this years NCeG is Bringing Citizens, Industry and Government Closer.

Over a thousand delegates from 28 states and 8 union territories are expected to take part in this conference.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurates first of its kind Film Technology Exhibition at IFFI 53

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports Anurag Singh Thakur, inaugurated the Film Technology Exhibition showcasing technology and various Elements pertaining to film art/cinema and aesthetics at IFFI 2022 in Goa.Following the inauguration the Minister visited the various stalls and experienced the state-of-art equipment and technologies displayed at this unique maiden exhibition at IFFI.

Karmyogi Prarambh Module

The Karmayogi Prarambh module is an initiative under the Mission Karmayogi.

It is an online orientation course for the new recruits of various government departments.

It will help new government employees to understand the Code Of Conduct required to adapt to the new role.

Ethics in the workplace, Integrity, human resource policies and other benefits, allowances, etc., are some of the topics focused on by the module.

The objective of this online orientation programme is to keep the essence of civil service within the people of the country.

UNESCO India Africa Hackathon Inaugurated

UNESCO India Africa Hackathon was inaugurated at Gautam Buddha University with a grand opening ceremony. The program extensively focused upon promoting engagement and collaboration of the student communities in India with the communities of African nations to develop ingenious and out-of-the-box strategies to tackle the problems faced by mankind.

While welcoming the African students, UP CM beckoned them to be a part of startups and innovation culture here in India. He also invited students to study in India and be India’s innovation partners. He concluded by extending his best wishes for a successful UNESCO India Africa Hackathon.

India Ranks 8 in Climate Change Performance Index 2023

India rose two spots to rank eighth out of 63 countries in the<a href="https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate ChangePerformance Index 2023 (CCPI). In theGreenhouse Gas Emissionsand Energy Use categories, the country was rated “high”. In the Climate Policy andRENEWABLE ENERGYcategories, it earned a “medium” rating.

The CCPI evaluates 59 countries and the European Union, which together generate over 90 per cent of globalgreenhouse gas emissions. Using standardised criteria, the CCPI looks at four categories, with 14 indicators: Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Renewable Energy, Energy Use, and Climate Policy.

It tracks the implementation of theParis Agreementby various countries.

In Greenhouse Gas Emissions, India ranked ninth. Under the category ofRenewable Energyand Energy Use, it stood at the 24th and ninth stop, respectively. And on Climate Policy, India ranked eighth.
