Now, rainwater harvesting mandatory in all new buildings in state
The statecabinet amended the building by-laws and made it mandatory to install rainwaterharvestingstructures in all new buildings. The cabinet also approved a proposed amendment in the by-laws which will now enable construction of high rise buildings in plots which measure less than 1,000 square meters (10,000 square feet).
The 11-member ministerial council also approved a proposal whereby employees of the can avail post-retirement and death benefits of the new National Pension Scheme in retrospective effective from December 1, 2004. Earlier, the schemes benefits were for those who retired after July 8, 2019.
The cabinet also approved allocation of Rs 28.81 crore for Saubhagya Yojana, which aims to illuminate 213 villages in remote parts of the state through solar panels.
The cabinet also approved a proposal to revise the cost of Swarnarekha Multi Purpose Project to Rs 12,849 crore. The project cost was last revised to Rs 6,613 crore in October 2010.
