Tourists paradise Goa is slowly emerging as the new destination of labourers of Jharkhand as labourers feel that there is employment opportunity for them in Goa, which is not crowded unlike other metro cities, besides, they get the right wage for their skill.

Although, the State Labour, EMPLOYMENT, Training & Skill development department still doesnt have comprehensive data of the Migration of labourers from Jharkhand to other states but officials admitted Goa is the preferred destination of many labourers.

Last year when the nationwide lockdown was imposed to stop the outbreak of Covid 19; the Jharkhand Government had made special arrangements for the safe return of labourers back to their Home in Jharkhand.

Anganwadi and other workers working at the grass root level were involved in the survey. But the survey ended with less than a lakh people having migrated to other States as people were hesitant to divulge details of their family members working outside of Jharkhand.
