DVC to erect 4500 MW Renewable Energy units in State, WB
In its efforts to expand its involvement in power generation, transmission, and distribution activities, DVC is prepared to invest Rs 60,000 crore. The organization has planned to establish Thermal, Solar, and Pump Storage units throughout the country, aiming to produce an additional 8,000 MW of electricity.
Singh stated that they presently possess a power generation capacity of 7,000 MW and have outlined an estimated of Rs 60,000 crore to generate the additional power through Thermal and RENEWABLE ENERGY units across the nation.
According to Singh, this plan entails the development of 3,720 MW of Thermal units solely through Brownfield projects, including 1,320 MW at Raghunathpur, 1,600 MW at Koderma, and 800 MW at Durgapur. He further added, “In addition, we will establish 4,500 MW of Renewable energy units, comprising 2,000 MW of Solar units (both Ground mounts and Floating) and 3,500 MW Pump Storage units (1,500 MW at Lugu Pahari and 1,000 MW at Panchet in Jharkhand).”
