‘Languages spoken by tribes need to be documented’

Linguist Anvita Abbi, stressed the need for documentation of languages spoken by minority communities to preserve these languages for future generations.
She was speaking the inauguration of training workshop on documentation of languages facing extinction organised by the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) at its campus. She said, “Efforts like proper research, survey, data collection, field work, analysis, archiving and documentation are must for conservation of languages that are facing danger.”

Language is an effective Communication, there were instances of thousands of these tribes who saved their lives when they were fishing when a Tsunami struck the seashores of Andaman Nicobar Islands a few years ago. Likewise, there are several endangered languages like Halbi in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh,Sadari Jharkhand, north-eastern states languages like Chokri, Kheza, Sangatan and Teniyada

Ministry for Corporate Affairs Introduces C-PACE

TheMinistry of Corporate Affairs (MCA)has established theCentre for Processing Accelerated Corporate Exit (C-PACE)to streamline the process of removing companies from theMCA Register. The purpose of C-PACE is to reduce the burden on the registry and provide a convenient process for stakeholders to remove their companys name from the register.

This initiative is part of MCAs effort to make doing business and exiting easier for companies.

C-PACE will operate under theRegistrar of Companies (RoC)and will handle applications for processing and disposal.

The office of C-PACE was inaugurated on May 1, 2023, by R.K. Dalmia, the director of inspection and investigation at MCA.

Centre to Launch New 75 Coin to Mark New Parliament Inauguration

The Ministry of Finance has announced the launch of a special 75 coin to commemorate the inauguration of Indias new parliament building. Prime MinisterNarendra Modiwill unveil the coin on Sunday, 28 May, coinciding with the celebration of Indias 75 years of independence.

The newly minted 75 coin will feature the iconic Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar on one side, with the wordsSatyamev Jayatebelow it. The coin will bear the inscription Bharat in on the left side and India in English on the right. It will also display the rupee symbol and the denomination value of 75 in international numerals beneath the Lion Capital. On the reverse side, an image of the parliament complex will be depicted, with Sansad Sankul written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery and Parliament Complex in English on the lower periphery.

Journal: 20% healthy adults have pre-diabetes glucose metabolism

About 20 per cent or one in five adults considered healthy by medical standards, have glucose Metabolism similar to those with pre-diabetes, according to a study published in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings: Digital Health.

These healthy adults were identified using a new method of analysis, developed by scientists at Klick Health, a US based life sciences Company that flags a precursor to prediabetes called impaired glucose homeostasis (IGH).

The team has stressed the need for intervention to stop these adults from becoming diabetic.

Participants were diagnosed diabetic, pre-diabetic, or healthy, according to guidelines outlined by the American Diabetes Association.

After applying the mathematical model, patients were then re-classified into two groups based on their glucose homeostasis parameters: effective or impaired.
