Rs 2.2 crore beautification push to Tilaiya Dam likely soon
TheKoderma district administrationhas decided to give a facelift to theTilaiya Damto increase its popularity and attract more tourists and has earmarked Rs 2.2 crore for the purpose. The dam, which was the first of four multi-purpose Dams included in the first phase ofDamodar Valley Corporation, is constructed across Barakar River.
In 2017, the Koderma District Administration in association with the state tourist department had introduced a 32-seater double-decker boat and an eight-seater speed boat to draw tourists and improve the lives of boatmen.

The first supply of UCO (Used Cooking Oil) based Biodiesel blended Diesel under the EOI Scheme was flagged off by Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas from Indian Oil’s Tikrikalan Terminal in Delhi.
Biodiesel is an alternative fuel that can be made from vegetable oils, animal fats, tallow, and waste cooking oil, and is similar to traditional or “fossil” diesel.
Another benefit of Biodiesel is that it is carbon-neutral, meaning that the oilseed absorbs the same amount of CO2 that is emitted when the fuel is burned in a vehicle.
Biodiesel is also quickly biodegradable and totally non-toxic.
