‘J’khand to be established as horticultural products’ hub’
In a bid to establish Jharkhand as a horticultural products’ hub in the Country, the State Government has plans to organize various training programs for better implementation of different schemes and promoting horticulture aimed at generating new employment opportunities for the farmers, youth and women.
The Director further said that under the scheme, a dedicated training programme is planned for the urban youth. With this, the beautification will be encouraged in urban areas through urban youth skill development in gardening and horticulture crop production. This training will be organized with the help of the identified institutes of importance, run by the Government of Jharkhand and the Government of India. This training session is planned for a length of 25 Days, she added.
The State Government plans to promote the cultivation of Chillies and other spices, which are in high demand in the market. As per the blueprint of the scheme, initially, 1330 hectares of land across different districts of Jharkhand will be promoted for Chilli farming. Along with this, farmers will be trained about the inclusion of new technologies in mushroom farming,” said Singhmaar.
The Government is putting efforts to motivate farmers to take up floriculture and Papaya production. Initially, floriculture will be promoted on an area of 1000 hectares in the State. The Government has set a target of planting about eight lakh Papaya saplings in the financial year 2021-22. Farmers will be provided saplings for the plantation.

Mitra Shakthi – India Sri Lanka Bilateral Joint Exercise On 4 October
Affairs:India Sri Lanka, a bilateral joint exercise called Mitra Shakti’s 8th edition was conducted from 4 October to 15 October at Ampara in Sri Lanka.
? In the joint exercise, all arms contingent of 120 personnel from the Indian Army will participate alongside the battalion of the Sri Lankan Army.
? Mitra Shakthi was conducted to push close relations between the armies of India and Sri Lanka.
? It also seeks to reinforce interoperability and share best practices to counter insurgency and terrorism operations.
? It will involve tactical level operations at the sub-unit level.
? Operations were held in a global Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism environment.
? The exercise will act as the catalyst to bring synergy and cooperation at the grassroots. A level between the Indian and Sri Lankan Army.
IFSCA to form Committee On Sustainable Finance.
FSCA has made a committee to recommend ways for the expansion of Sustainable Finance Hub.
? The committee is headed by C.K. Mishra, Former Secretary of “Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change” with 10-members, who will recommend ways to develop a sustainable financial hub.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with Gram Panchayats and Pani Samitis or Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSC) on Jal Jeevan Mission On October 2 via video conferencing.
