CM seeks separate column in census data for tribals

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, during the Niti Ayog meeting with the PM and CMs of different states reiterated the demand of separate column for tribal population in the Census 2021 data.

Soren further added that the State Govrnment wants to increase the purchasing power of the villagers. For this, special attention is being given to agriculture, social security, health, education and infrastructure development in the rural areas of the State.

Soren said that Jharkhand is also a mineral-intensive State. These issues have been discussed many times between the State and the Centre. But, it is not proving worthwhile. In addition to DMFT, the royalty of mining, the Central government should think about the partnership model of mining operations.

This will help provide opportunities for growth to the residents of Jharkhand, because people here not only have to suffer financially but they also go through mental suffering due to dislocation, which needs to be understood.

he CM said that 50 per cent of the land of Jharkhand is covered with forest and bushes.

It is difficult to get forest clearance for the State government’s industries and entrepreneurs for setting up any type of industry, whereas the Central government undertakings easily get forest clearance.

Silver Antimony Telluride – A Material That Uses Waste Heat

Scientists at the Jawaharlal Nehru Advanced Scientific Research Center based in Bangalore have discovered a new material, Silver Antimony Telluride (AgSbTe2), which can help utilize waste heat generated by various household appliances and industrial equipment and use it for other useful work.

It is a nano-material compound synthesized from Silver, Copper and Tellurium.

A crystalline solid, which has free electrons that help electricity conduction, but its crystal lattice (arrangement of atoms) is quite inflexible and vibrates very slowly, thereby inhibiting the propagation of heat.

Therefore, it is a good conductor of electricity, but a bad conductor of heat, which is important for the Thermo-electric effect.

There are various potential applications. Industrial processes and power plants and various household appliances will generate a lot of waste heat, which can be used to do a lot of work.
